Luke Rainey Awarded Indiana County Fire Chiefs Association Scholarship |

The Indiana County Fire Chiefs’ Association has selected Luke Rainey as a recipient of the 2022 Association’s Community Service Scholarship. Luke will receive a $500.00 scholarships to offset costs for post-secondary schooling. Luke is a senior at Penns Manor High school and an active support member with the Cherryhill Township Volunteer Fire Company. Although Luke is not engaged in firefighting activities, he has been an integral contributor to the Cherryhill Township Fire Company fundraising efforts working nearly every Wednesday and Saturday bingo and other major fundraising events for the past three years. Luke has also assisted in various Community Outreach programs. At Penns Manor Luke is a involved with many of the Academic Competition teams such as Hometown Hi-Q, Quiz Bowl and Heritage Conference Mathematics team. Luke is also a member of the Penns Manor National Honor Society and FBLA. Luke has also worked as a stringer for the Indiana Gazette and is a regular contributing reporter writing game articles during the fall high school football season. Luke’s future plans are to attend Shippensburg University and study Political Science and Communications. |
