Luke Rainey Awarded PA Burglar & Fire Alarm Association Scholarship

The Pennsylvania Burglar & Fire Alarm Association has selected Luke Rainey as a recipient of the 2022 PBFFA Scholarship. Rainey will receive a $1000.00 scholarships to offset costs for post-secondary schooling. In their award notice, the PBFFA commended Rainey for his academic achievements, extracurricular and community activities.

Rainey is a senior at Penns Manor High school and an active support member with the Cherryhill Township Volunteer Fire Company. Although Rainey is not engaged in firefighting activities, he has been an integral contributor to the Cherryhill Township Fire Company fundraising efforts working nearly every Wednesday and Saturday bingo and other major fundraising events for the past three years. Raineyhas also assisted in various Community Outreach programs.

At Penns Manor Rainey is a involved with many of the Academic Competition teams such as Hometown Hi-Q, Quiz Bowl and Heritage Conference Mathematics team. Rainey is also a member of the Penns Manor National Honor Society and FBLA. Rainey has also worked as a stringer for the Indiana Gazette and is a regular contributing reporter writing game articles during the fall high school football season.

Rainey's future plans are to attend Shippensburg University to study Political Science and Communications.
