Cherryhill Fire Company Receives Grant

The Cherryhill Township Fire Company was awarded a $4,100 grant from the Indiana County Endowment of The Pittsburgh Foundation to purchase, mount and install four Samsung tablets to support the Indiana County Mobile Data Network Initiative. As reported previously by the fire company, the goal of the Mobile Data Initiative is enhance communication and critical informational sharing between the dispatch center and first responders working on the scene of emergencies within the county.

Indiana County in support of this initiative previously purchased and distributed cradle points for participating fire departments. Cherryhill Fire Company installed the cradles points in Engine 241, Rescue-Engine 242, Engine 243 and Service 245. The grant through the Indiana County Endowment of The Pittsburgh Foundation will maximize the communication and informational sharing capabilities of this Mobile Data Network Initiative and make the emergency scene operations more safe and efficient for first responders and the general public.
