Cherryhill Township Social Members Trey Rainey and Luke Rainey were each awarded $1,000 scholarships at the Western Pennsylvania Firefighters Association's Convention awards banquet held at the Somerset Fire Department on August 5. Trey is a junior accounting major in the Business Honors program in the Eberly School of Business at IUP. He has been a social member of Cherryhill for four years and assist the company as our bi-weekly bingo as a caller, ticket seller for gun raffles and has helped organize various community outreach programs. Luke, will be a freshman political science major at Shippensburg University starting in the fall of 2022. He has been a social member of Cherryhill for two years and is a ticket seller for our bi-weekly bingo, gun raffle and Daytona 500 fundraisers and has helped organize various community outreach programs. Trey and Luke embody the philosophy promoted by the Cherryhill Township Fire Company that everybody has something to offer their community fire company. Although, they do not fight fires, their efforts in our fundraising programs helps raise the money to purchase mission critical equipment to protect the community. Cherryhill Fire Company is proud of these two young men for their efforts to better our company and our community. Cherryhill is grateful that the Western Pennsylvania Fire Association recognizes deserving members who contribute their talent to the business and/or fire side of the house. |
